Poland: Leading the European Family

treść strony

We are delighted to invite you to explore an exhibition showcases the extraordinary works created by children as part of the "Poland: Leading the European Family” competition.

Organized by the Polish Ministry of Education and coordinated by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE), this competition was one of the first initiatives  to prepare Poland for its Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The primary goal of the competition was to encourage children to express their vision of Poland as an integral part of the larger European community. Guided by their imagination and unique perspectives, the participants were able to design logo concepts that blend national symbolism with European values.

The competition jury featured distinguished artists, including:

  • prof. Lech Majewski – professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, renowned graphic designer and poster artist,
  • Andrzej Pągowski – artist specializing in poster design for theater, film, and festivals,
  • Anita Głowińska – illustrator and author of the beloved Kicia Kocia children's book series,
  • Emilia Dziubak – award-winning illustrator recognized both in Poland and abroad.

The jury selected 32 outstanding works to include in the exhibition – one from each voivodeship in two age categories: primary school grades 1-3, and grades 4-8.

Out of approximately 1,500 illustrations submitted, these works best captured the essence of the competition theme and stood out for their creativity.

We warmly encourage you to explore and appreciate these inspiring artworks. May this exhibition serve as a celebration of young artistic expression and youth engagement in shaping our shared future.

  • Grades 1-3 category: Cardinal Wyszyński Primary School no. 25, Rzeszów, podkarpackie voivodeship
